Suffolk University – MA Public Administration
Simmons College – BA International Business; Spanish study semester in Guadalajara, Mexico
Heidi is an organizational management strategist who builds and repositions both healthy and troubled organizations for transformational growth through strategic planning, leadership development, governance and brand positioning.
With 20 years of experience in facilitating collaboration among leaders in industry, government and the nonprofit sectors, she is a “change maker” whose visionary approach looks beyond the curve to identify and make connections that go unnoticed by most.
Among her accomplishments, Heidi led the turn-around of 30-year old national nonprofit, Can Do Multiple Sclerosis, by modernizing their business model to achieve explosive growth in program delivery, funding and brand recognition. Before joining Can Do MS, she co-founded and was Executive Director of the American Transplant Foundation. Filling an unmet need, its mission to promote both living and deceased organ and tissue donation was met by coordinating collaborative efforts among the nationwide transplant community to develop stronger, unified, messaging.
Previously, Heidi was the Vice President of Governmental Affairs at the Colorado Association of Commerce and Industry (CACI), the State Chamber of Commerce, serving as the spokesperson for industry at the state legislature. Her primary responsibility was to convene business leaders from all industry sectors in strategy sessions to establish policy positions. Heidi then lobbied legislative and regulatory bodies on behalf of Colorado's business community and provided expert testimony on a broad range of topics including tax, tort, labor and employment, environment and technology. Prior to joining CACI, Heidi was a policy analyst at the Office of the Legislative Council, which is the nonpartisan research arm of the Colorado General Assembly.
Heidi is currently serving as an appointed member of the US Commerce Department’s National Institute of Standards and Technology Board of Examiners for the 2017 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. The Baldrige Award is the nation’s highest honor for organizational innovation and performance excellence.
